BGR Consulting Engineers was a part of the design team for the remodel of a 30 year old fire station in North Kansas City, MO. At 17,300 square feet and a budget of $3,200,000 the project was not large but was a challenge all the same. The remodel was phased to allow parts of the station to remain occupied so the city would not be without fire response. BGR Consulting Engineers was tasked to design MEP system upgrades to minimize downtime. In addition, a few weeks prior to completion of the bid documents the city decided that the design needed to incorporate all possible energy efficient products while still adhering to the original submission requirements. Although the Owner's project requirements changed towards the end of the design schedule the documents were delivered on time and within budget.
